Happy Birthday - Altenew Vintage Flowers Layering stamp set

This was my birthday week so I thought I'd share this random birthday card I made :) This is the stamp set my foster brother bought me for my birthday & I totally love it (although I am going to have to practice my stamping technique ^^).

So this is the Altenew Vintage Flower set & I used the hero arts purple ombre ink, the lawn fawn inks & Avery Elle white ink (aka basically all the inks I own). I decided to stamp these on Neenah Dessert Storm Card Stock for a couple of reasons, firstly because I love the way kraft cardstock looks on cards & secondly because I don't have many colours of ink so if I'd stamped on white paper I wouldn't have been able to make the most of the stamp layering effect of the set :)

I made the design using masking etc but as it was my first time using the set I made a few mistakes so on a separate piece of the Neenah cardstock I stamped a few roses, leaves & the bigger flowers, fussy cut the big ones & adhered them using foam tape to make it look like an artistic choice (it's actually my favourite thing about the card).

For the sentiment I used the hero arts Happy stamp & cut set & the banner stamp from the stamp set that came with the June Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The patchiness is because I had heard all the people on youtube channels say that the hero arts ink is patchy at first but that it fills in over time....apparently not as much as I had hoped :S I really need to practice inking up solid stamps :)

Once the front was finished I adhered it to a pre-made card base :)
