Masculine Card: Super Hero Squad

I'm back again :) I am totally in love with these challenges, they're really inspiring me to do cards I wouldn't do otherwise.
This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday card challenge & the concept was 'Make it Masculine'.
I don't really do 'masculine' or 'feminine' cards so trying to think of a masculine card was really hard, all the boys in my family would probably prefer my last card to this one even though they're all superhero nuts :S

What I did in the end was get out my two obviously 'boy friendly' stamp sets, the Mama Elephant Tiny Heros set & the Lawn Fawn Beep Boop set & googled for images I could use as a reference. I actually ended up with this picture:

Found at
I adore the way the card turned out :) It feels kind of like a super hero comic but it's still really cute plus I love the dimensionality (is that even a word?).
So the little superheros were stamped in memento ink on Neenah solar white cardstock & coloured in using alcohol markers (a mix of copics & spectrum noirs) & the little robot was stamped using lawn fawn ink in hippo on & then coloured in using spectrum noir markers. Then I covered them with a layer of glitter pen & cut them out using the matching dies. There were a couple of mess-ups that got covered with white gel pen (the little light on the robot, the whole face of the flying super hero & just around the mask of the other girl super hero) but one of the good bits of super heros is that however they are coloured in they end up looking kind of awesome :) My foster brother coloured in these stamps once using yellow, orange, green & highlighters & it still came out looking pretty good :)

Anyway, the background is on a piece of ranger watercolour cardstock cut down to fit on the front of this card. It was done using peerless watercolours using my medium water brush & a roughly sketched skyline (it's obviously not perfect). Then I cut out a strip of Neenah solar white cardstock coloured in using a grey spectrum noir pen & started to assemble the card using a lot of cheap foam tape & a tiny bit of my tape runner. The speech bubble sentiment was a last minute addition & it's from the beep boop stamp set :)

I will add the supplies as soon as I can, I'm just wanting to get this posted in time for the deadline :)
