Get Carried Away

Hey everyone, sorry I've been missing for so long but since I last posted there has been one abortive attempt at a holiday, a nasty flare & an awful lot of pain & exhaustion.... Isn't M.E. the best condition?
Anyway, if you wanted to know about all of that stuff you'd be reading my main blog, this is a card making blog so maybe I should get on with the card making ^^

This card was actually a huge compromise for me, I hate to use stamp sets exactly as they are intended, for some reason it rubs me the wrong way & makes me feel like I'm not being creative (yeah, I'm nutty I know). This stamp combimation is so unbelivanly cute however I just had to use it ^^

It was also my first attemp at using the amazing stitched cloud borders from lawn fawn....I think I have a lot of learning to do there, not that I don't love the way it worked outt but there are so many cards that make the cloud borders look amazing & I'm not sure that this is one of them....

Anyway, I started this card by colouring an A6 sized piece of vellum with a blue spectrum noir pen & then cutting it into strips 1 third the width of the original piece of vellum.
Next I stamped the animals & balloon on a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock using memento ink, then I coloured them in using a mixture of spectrum noir & copic markers. I die cut them using the matching dies, added the sequin & a lot of glossy accents to the balloon & allowed to dry.
Then I cut the colours out of Neenah solar white & vellum, stamped the sentiment (which is hands down one of my all time favourite sentiments) in versamark & then heat embossed it in liquid platinum.
Then it was just a matter of putting the scene together and adding sequins :)
