Plain White Card

Hi everyone. This card is my first 'CASE-ing' card? I'm not 100% sure what that means but I saw the contest for creative chick's 10th anniversary on Sandy Allnock's youtube I thought it looked like a lot of fun & when I saw this card I knew I had to take part.

When I get really ill, like I have been the past few weeks I watch card making videos on youtube (that's how I got sucked into card making in the first place) but when I am sick 24/7 for more than a week I start to run out of videos. I ended up doing the online card classes & one of them there is a day for 'plain white cards' which sounded really interesting (I'd never seen a white on white card, it seemed like a fun challenge). That wasn't what the day was actually about but the idea still got my creative juices flowing. After that all I needed was an idea & I found that in the card I'm CASE-ing.

The reason this card works (in my opinion) are the different kinds of texture: the stitching effect, the pearlescent embossing paste, the vellum, the sequins & the 3D elements.

Anyway, how I made the card...

First I applied a layer of Dreamweaver pearlescent embossing paste on a piece Neenah solar white card stock and allowed it to dry. Then I die cut the snowflakes, 'hugs' and hearts out of Neenah solar white card stock five times. Then I cut the 'hugs' and hearts out of the pearlescent card stock & started gluing the die cuts together in stacks so they were 3D.

Then it was just a matter of die cutting the tag out of vellum & sticking on the die cuts & adding a few sequins. I struggle with adhesive & vellum so if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it, I hate having to do the fiddly adhesive hiding dance.
