Joy to the World

Hey everyone. I guess this is my first ever Christmas card, it totally feels like a landmark, I've degenerated so quickly this year there as a point when I didn't know if I'd still be able to make cards in the lead up to Christmas. I'm so happy I can ^^

Anyway, this card was made for the pretty pink posh guest designer search & it's a little bit more complicated than some of my recent cards, I even sat at my desk to make it (a pretty big deal for me, I mostly craft on the sofa these days as it's more low impact for me).

The task was to make a card inspired by the one of the 4 cards they had up as examples, mine was inspired by the tag shaker card they had as an option & I had totally planned this as a shaker card but the window is so small that it would have been overwhelmed but any sequins I had put in.....I just realised that I could have done it was a fuse pocket shaker without the frame but I totally didn't think of that at the time, & I don't think it would have looked as awesome anyway (I'm very proud of this card).

The tag first. The penguin is from the Avery Elle More Stories stamp set, stamped on Neenah Solar White with Memento Black ink & coloured in with a mix of copics & spectrum noir alcohol markers then fussy cut very carefully :)
The tag is one of the Simon Says stamp large tag dies, with one of the Lawn Fawn rectangle dies cutting out the middle on the glitter layer (which is DCWV glitter paper). The back tag was watercoloured using my peerless watercolours & when that was dried I heat embossed a few snowflakes from the Avery Elle More Stories Stamp Set, the 'Joy' from the Wplus9 wreath stamp set & the 'to the world' from the new Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut set.

Once they were stuck together I started layering the card up. I had originally planned to use the new bokeh paper from Lawn Fawn as the layer behind the tag but the colours were all wrong so I used the Simon Says Stamp white pigment ink to stamp snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp lots of snowflakes & the stars from the Hero Arts Merry Stamp & Cut set onto navy cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.

I then die cut it using a lawn fawn die & die cut a border out of glitter paper & tore the edges of velum so it was an in between size.

Finally I layered it all up & added a few sequins....oh & I added some silver Lawn Fawn twine.

Supplies list to be added...
