World Card Day: Watercolour Autumn Shaker

Okay this is by far my favourite cards I've done, possibly that I've ever done.
I have a great love for autumn & I feel like this card 100% sums up autumn for me, I adore them.

The first thing I did was stamp, colour & fussy cut the two hedghogs, the trees & all of those sodding leaves (they are awful to fussy cut!).

After that I watercoloured two little tree scenes using distress inks, the hero arts colour layering trees & the most amazing new watercolour brushes I've bought, the ones Sandy Allnock loves...they are actually worth the hype, they are amazing!

Once I'd done that I used one of the Simon Says Stamp dies that have stitching on both sides to cut windows in this cream card that came in my Simon Says Stamp October Card kit. I then added some clear plastic over the window, then I stuck the birch trees just behind the plastic, some foam behind that & then I lined the watercolour up so it stuck to the card back in exactly the right place & then I added a LOT of sequins in the middle.....possibly too many sequins but I was having a lot of fun & there were some super pretty ones :)

After I stuck it together I stamped Autumn Greetings using the Dark Brown Lawn Fawn ink, added on some leaves & the cute little hedgehogs & that was everything done.

  1. These cards or so brilliant...I love the background to the shaker part of the cards, such a clever idea!
The hedgehogs are so perfect and cute and the leaves may have been hard to fussy cut out but I can assure you they are worth it.

  2. I love this card - it's so cute and a great celebration of autumn. I love your cards!
